What food do guinea pigs need?

Guinea pigs eat guinea pig food, hay, and limited amounts of fruits and vegetables. They need fresh water every day.

What shelter do guinea pigs need?

Guinea pigs need a big cage so they have lots of room to move around. Make sure to add soft bedding, a food dish, and a water bowl or bottle. Remove any poop or dirty bedding every day, and give the cage a good clean every week.

How long do guinea pigs live?

Guinea pigs can live for 4 to 8 years with good care.

How do you take care of a guinea pig?

  • Keep guinea pigs in their own cage and not with other animals.
  • Guinea pigs clean themselves, so you do not need to bathe them. Cut their nails once a month and brush their fur.
  • Do NOT give your guinea pig chocolate.
