What food do hamsters need?
You can feed your hamster fruits and vegetables like carrots, squash, broccoli, cucumbers, apples, pears, and berries. Make sure you get a chew-proof water bottle for their cage.
What shelter do hamsters need?
Your hamster will need a cage to feel safe and comfortable. You can get tubes for your hamster to explore and bedding to make your hamster cozy. Place the cage in a place that is near people but is relatively quiet. Many people keep their hamster cages in their bedrooms.
How long do hamsters live?
Hamsters can live to be 2 or 3 years old with good care.
How do you take care of a hamster?
- Make sure to clean your hamster’s cage each week.
- Give hamsters plenty of time to exercise and bond with you outside their cage.
- Cradle your hands when holding your hamster to keep it safe.
Do you need to take hamsters to the veterinarian?
Hamsters should visit the vet once a year for a checkup.
